A Song of Longing

Today I needed some quiet time and decided to read the prayers in Shabbat Morning Service ll. When I came to the reading below, it resonated with the longing that so many of us have been feeling. Perhaps, with the beauty of these words, we will each find some way to help make this song a reality.
SING THE SONG of men and women joined in understanding and respect.
The song of God’s miracles, an earth protected and cherished; a gift for our children and the generations to come.
The song of a land once ravished by war, now quiet and content; her soldiers, home, to leave no more. The song of a world redeemed: A song of peace.
